Who we are:
Digital Scholarship (DISC) GTA (http://disc.oise.utoronto.ca/) is a community of scholars, students, librarians, and interested members of the public who are engaged in interesting projects in the Digital Humanities at institutions across the Toronto area. We aim to expand research in the humanities by using new digital tools, interfaces, and methods. We also maintain a forum where members share methods and keep each other up-to-date on the latest applications of digital technology to humanities research.
Who we're looking for:
We are looking for two motivated students with an interest in the humanities to be part-time bloggers for and contributors to DISC GTA. These DISC Student Fellows will blog six to eight times this year on topics related to the Digital Humanities and help contribute to the DISC site in other ways. The best candidates will have:
• excellent communication skills
• interest in digital technologies and the humanities
• strong organizational skills.
Experience with social media - blogs, vlogs, tweeting, podcasting - is a plus.
Compensation:
$300.00, and the ability to have your voice heard in a scholarly yet casual atmosphere. Applicants will also have many opportunities to network with scholars from several universities operating in a range of disciplines.
Commitment:
Part-time work in the form of blog entries and other contributions from January to June on topics related to the Digital Humanities and DISC GTA, as well as stimulating discussion on the DISC GTA forums.
